Rose Bonneau Final Task « Invasion », Paul Apal’kin, 2014 First, I chose the portrait “Invasion” by the photographer Paul Apal’kin because I found it very beautiful and imaginative. In this portrait, we can see a young girl who is behind a mirror. This mirror is hiding her eyes but in this mirror, we can see another girl’s eyes. What I like in this photograph is that everyone can make his own interpretation. In my opinion, the girl wants to hide as if she was in pain, but these eyes seem to be part of her stronger and more confident inner-self. As a photographer, Paul Apal’kin made an incredible artistic exploit in the technique. I think many teenagers can recognize themselves in this portrait because we sometimes don’t have confidence in ourselves but over the time we become stronger. So I really like this portrait.
