They are the birthplace of many sto- ries of mystery and wonder as travelers climbed them in search of answers about the natural world. These stories are a part of the Alp’s and Carpathians’patrimony, ranging from tales of mountains being formed to great explorers reaching the highest summits. Moreover, myths and legends link to us to our natural environment, creating a sense of closeness with nature. They are passed down through storytelling and inspire future genera- tions to discover the world around them.
