This document is the result of an educational innovative project revolving around the question of rebuilding Syria. The project is done in collaboration between the Planning Institute in Grenoble (Institute d'Urbanisme de Grenoble) and the Architecture Faculty in Damascus University. It contains a series of three workshops (one per year) and extend over three years, each year dealing with a different theme under the umbrella of ‘reconstruction’.
The objective is to highlight the important role educational institutions can play in reconstructing societies in the aftermath of a crisis.
This booklet outlines the vision for the collaboration project and provide detailed account on the first workshop done during the academic year of 2014/2015.
