This investigation finds its roots in the contradiction between detailed elaboration of the aspects of relations between the USSR/Russia and the West and insufficient attention of Russian researchers to the comparative analysis of France and the French People in the Soviet and Russian media.
In order to limit the audiovisual material, the study analyzed only feature films (which have the widest distribution and strongest impact on mass audiences), not including documentaries, animated films, and television programs in the spectrum of analysis.
