By Gina Kelly After 56 years of teaching, 53 of which were spent at Texas Tech, Dr. Max Miller has retired. Max, as he prefers to be called by peers and students alike, has taught thousands of students during his extremely long tenure. Those in the know stated that Max has taught longer at Tech than any other professor in the history of Tech. Max has been a mainstay in the Food Science Department for all these years. Max taught Dairy Manufacturing and Processing during his years at Tech. In 2014, he was honored by the Department of Animal and Food Sciences with the department’s Distinguished Service Award. In receiving this honor, his legacy and dedication were often mentioned. Other awards received by Max include Outstanding College of Agriculture Science and Natural Resources (CASNR) Faculty. He has also been inducted into the Halls of Fame for both the Texas Food Processors Association and the Dairy Institute of Texas. He was also a member of the inaugural class named to the Texas T
