By: Jorie Pudil Four years of hard work and a specific goal of reaching the top spot among graduating students has paid off for Senior Alexandra Herman. Valedictorian is the highest-ranking student in the graduating class. “I’m super excited about getting this award,” said the 18 -year-old. This is something that I have dreamed about since I was a frosh, but I wouldn’t have been able to get here without my family, friends, teachers, and classmates.” Herman acknowledges this goal did not come easily. She had to learn how to manage her time well to maintain her grades, and being involved in sports made the high GPA even more difficult to earn.
