Backgrounder Music Midtown is a two-day music festival that takes place in Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Peter Conlon, CEO of LiveNation Atlanta, started it in 1994. The festival has had headliners such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Foo Fighters, Coldplay and Eminem. Originally the festival was held at 14th and Peachtree Streets. Music Midtown boasts a crowd of over 160,000, drawing festivalgoers from all across the United States over the course of two days. The festival took a bit of a break from 2006 until 2011 when it returned in a large capacity at Piedmont Park. The festival includes not only local artists and vendors but also local food from around the Atlanta area. Patrons can enjoy a variety of food and beverage as well as shop while enjoying great music. Three stages are typically set up throughout Piedmont Park with the different acts playing at different times during the day.
