Dr. Emilie Ringe Discusses Her Teaching and Volunteering Interests
With powerful academic tools including a M.S. in inorganic chemistry and Ph.D. from Northwestern
University in her stride, Dr. Emilie Ringe has much to impart and share in terms of knowledge that
she has gained over the years. Dr. Ringe gives utmost priority to tutoring and mentoring and
discusses her teaching and volunteering interests.
She spent 2007 and 2008 teaching students in intensive general chemistry classes all through the
summer while the following 2009 and 2010 was devoted to mentoring high school teachers as part
of the RET program. In 2011 she supervised a summer undergraduate educating about universitylevel research. Dr. Emilie Ringe ensures regular participation in outreach events as part of her
association with Materials Research and Engineering Centre (MRSEC) centre. Besides this, she is also
a member of Science Speakers and takes part in and organizes several science-themed plays.
