There are two different steps that can be executed to fix this kind of
problem.
Resolution:
Step 1
• Change the product key.
• Click on the Change Product Key Option on the activation window.
• Type the correct Product Key (this will change the installation ID if
the previous installation ID is invalid)
• Activate through Phone.
Other ways to change Product Key:
Windows VISTA/7
• Launch Command Prompt as Admin
(Press Enter after typing each command)
• Type: slmgr –upk
• Type: slmgr –rilc
• Type: slmgr –ipk (Product key)
• Exit command prompt
• Activate through phone
If installation ID remains the same, you may ask a new
product key from Customer Service
Then:
• Launch Command Prompt as Admin
(Press Enter after typing each command)
• Type: slmgr –upk
