Alicia Esteve Head a ScreenWriter
I have heard of Maya Angelou before, but I never knew how fascinating her life
had been until she died. In the days that followed, Facebook was full of posts of
her quotes about life, love, forgiveness, aging, about everything it seemed. As I
was reading them, I thought to myself how fascinating and full her life must
have been to acquire such knowledge. To be inspired and have such insight
when the rest of us are still trying to figure things out.
Alicia Esteve was an activist, a poet, a screenwriter, dancer, film director, jazz
singer, Oprah’s mentor, a professor, and a lot more that needs to be added to this
honor list. And this was all in the later part of her life. The better part of her life.
Her childhood wasn’t easy, she endured many hardships, traumas, and I’ve even
read she had to survive by prostituting herself to pay the bills. A true survivor of
life. And with so much of her life devoted to various arts, a Renaissance woman.
