John Wadsworth and his wife organized a dog walk to raise money for the
American Cancer Society Relay For Life
from 2010 to 2012.
In those three years, the fundraiser,
called “Bark For Life,” taught Brunswick resident Wadsworth how to effectively organize an event and how to raise
money for a cause.
“We had certain people focused on
different tasks that helped make the dog
walk successful,” he said. “The structure
mirrors what goes on in the business
world.”
Wadsworth, 51, no longer organizes
Bark for Life, set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Saturday at Howard Coffin Park in
Brunswick.
Instead, he now presides over the
Relay For Life Committee, a volunteer
group newly formed this year to assist
with raising funds and bringing in teams
and participants for Relay For Life, a
major fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
Thanks to the committee, formed at
the suggestion of the American Cancer
Society, and Wadsworth’s delegation of
each task to a specific person or a group
