With no children of her own, preparing
for the arrival of her first foster child seemed
like a daunting task for Cami Dittmar of St.
Simons Island and husband Loren.
Gathering the proper items in time to care
for the 9-month-old boy, the first child to be
placed with the family and who will be arriving at their home this morning, was going to be tough, she said.
“I was kind of worried we weren’t going
to have everything we needed,” Dittmar
said.
But because she and her husband are caring for the child through FaithBridge Foster
Care’s system for fostering, collecting all of
the cribs, toys, diapers and strollers necessary for a baby was built into the process,
she said.
“We have not had to buy a thing yet,”
Dittmar said.
FaithBridge’s mission is to address the
growing need for foster parents in Georgia
by creating a community through churches
to support those who take in children in
need of care.
