using the summer season underway, Environmental and Energy Affairs (EEA) Secretary Rick
Sullivan today announced the conclusion of 18 boat access projects at lakes, rivers and coastal areas
over the state.
"Boating and fishing are exceedingly popular in Massachusetts, along with the finishing of these
projects increases the existing fishing and boating resources spread throughout Massachusetts ,"
said Secretary Sullivan. "I am hoping anglers and boaters, in addition to their friends and families,
will get out and savor these new and our existing access points this season."
The 18 projects - worth in close proximity to $1 million - included repair and new construction of
boat ramps, creation of car-top access areas, new boarding floats, new barrier-free fishing piers,
renovations to parking areas, and road repair, all of which were overseen from the Department of
Fish and Game's (DFG) Office of Boating and Fishing Access.
