Directed by Phillip Noyce, Rabbit-Proof Fence is a feature film based on a true story. Set in the world
of Western Australia in 1931, the film centres on three little Aborigine girls - 14 year old Molly (played by
Everlyn Sampi), her 8 year old sister Daisy (Tianna Sansbury), their 12 year old cousin Gracie (Laura
Monaghan) - and their autocratic adversary, Mr. A.O. Neville (Kenneth Branagh), Chief Protector of
Aborigines in Western Australia and therefore their legal guardian. The film tells the story of how these
