LNG-Gorskaya, a new Russian LNG facility operator, plans on building a floating LNG facility assembled on a non-self-propelled barge, a pier and a pipeline in the St. Petersburg port area, the company told Russian website IAA PortNews. The FLNG will produce 1.26 million tonnes of LNG per annum. It will have the ability to process 1.968 billion cubic metres of gas per year and will start operations in December 2016. Russian shipyard United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) received the order for the three 7,300 cubic metre capacity LNG bunkering tankers, with an option for six additional ships. The LNG bunkering tankers will feature membrane technologies developed by GTT. The total price of RUB 5.67bn ($106.2m) for three ships means each bunker ship will be worth over $35.3 million.
