LNG JOURNAL PUBLICATION 18 November 2014 LNG Unlimited Indonesia has removed the logjam in its LNG permitting process and has given confidence to banks to finance projects, including two plants being constructed in Sulawesi. Indonesia is also setting up a network of regasification facilities to supply its own domestic market with cargoes as demand grows from industry and power companies. Attitude This LNG demand at home and abroad has led to a change in attitude as well as the overhaul of the nation’s energy regulator, now renamed SKKMigas. The previous regulator was dissolved in November 2012 by the Constitutional Court and since then the LNG industry has moved forward. The more favourable investment atmosphere has led the Japan Bank for International Cooperation and a consortium of Japanese banks to sign a loan agreement to help finance the Donggi-Senoro LNG production project in Sulawesi.
