LNG Unlimited
Kuwait Petroleum Corp. said it
signed a contract with Qatargas
for part of the gulf nation’s LNG
needs until the end of 2014 to be
imported to the upgraded floating
import facility at the Kuwaiti port
of Mina Al Ahmadi.
The KPC short-term supply contract with Qatargas is in addition
to two medium-term contracts
with Royal Dutch Shell and BP for
LNG on a seasonal basis for five
years.
Doha ceremony
KPC Managing Director for International Marketing Nasser Al Mudhaf
said that the Qatari contract was
signed in Qatar’s capital, Doha, on
April 27.
Al Mudhaf said he negotiated
the Qatar deal with the help of
Oil Minister and Minister of State
for National Assembly Affairs,
Ali Al-Omair.
The KPC MD pointed out that
the agreement with Qatar also
“paves the way for wider cooperation with Qatargas in the long
term.”
