Norse Mythology Gods of the week: The vinkings belived in Norse Mythology. The days in the week are named after the Gods in Norse Mythology. One is named, after the work you do. Monday and sunday Máni and Sól were the son and daugther of Mundilfari. The father thought, that he had the most beautiful children, and that is why, he called them Moon and Sun. The gods saw this as boastfulness. They punished him by sending Moon and Sun into to wagons, which pulled the moon and the sun over the sky. Tuesday Týr (Tyr) is a god among the Aesir, which is the dominating gods. He is god of war and the sky. He lost his hand to the wolf Fenrir, so the Aesir could cath him.
