The pinot noir is the grapevariety of great wines of Burgundy. To express all
its sharpness, it requires very particular conditions of production because of
its relative "fragility", among others climate neither too warmly nor too cold.
More than quite different, the pinot noir reveals all the nuances of the Burgundian soils.
It gives rise to red, complex great wines, to the silky texture and to the potential of impressive guard. In the nose, it recognizes itself by very elegant and
fine aromas. When the wine is young, we can expect to discover aromas of
red berries (blackcurrant, cherry, strawberry, raspberry, blackberry). After a
few years of ageing, we shall find notes of licorice, leather, tobacco, mushroom or undergrowth.
