The Enderby and District Services Commission re- cently awarded the design-build contract for the first phase of the new spray park at Barnes Park to DB Parks (Vortex), ISL Engineering and Land Services and Interpave Precast Ltd. Images for the winning design show different water features geared toward older and younger children and a flat surface so people with disabilities can easily access the spray park. The commission has a budget of $264,000 for the first phase, with funds coming from community fundraising, the commission’s reserve contribution, and a donation from the Enderby and District Lions Club. The commission has $206,000 set aside, a grassroots fundraising effort has raised well over $18,000, Twice But Nice chipped in $3,000 and $40,000 is coming from the En- derby Lions.
