Thirty-eight people turned out to pull over 700 pounds of garbage from the Shuswap River at the annual River Clean- up organized by the Enderby and District Chamber of Commerce to honour BC Rivers Day Sept. 24. Chamber staff took 420 pounds of garbage to the dump after the event and approximately 300 pounds that did not fit in the truck was put in the dumpster for later removal. Shuswap River Ambassadors Samuel Stankoven and Julia McCaig partnered with divers Brandon Mazur and Al Salt to remove as much as possible from the bottom of the river in three hours.
