FREE FREE FREE River RiverTALK TALK Januar y 13, 2017 | Volume 7, No.19 The Feed Enderby & District Food Bank is heading into 2017 with a solid foundation but a need for more volunteers. FED chair Scott Hemenway said a De- cember fundraising campaign generated over $20,000 that will be used to ensure the food bank continues to be viable and sus- tainable. “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of this community,” said Scott. “These do- nations will be used to assist people in need by providing a food hamper each month.” The food bank provides hampers to about 80 families each month and 166 households took home a Christmas hamper in Decem- ber, representing about 380 people includ- ing seniors, children and adults. In addition to cash donations, several local businesses and farms are involved in FED’s food recovery program, providing bread, meat and produce for the food ham- pers. “We are providing much more food to cli- ents than in the past,” added Scott. “People are receiving much
