A new five-member board of education will be elected during pro- vincial elections this October and an information session next week will aid those thinking of throwing their hat into the ring. The North Okanagan-Shuswap School District is hosting an infor- mation session on Tuesday, June 19 for prospective trustees. Mike McKay has been the singular trustee for the district since June 2016 when the Ministry of Education dismissed the nine-mem- ber board over financial and governance concerns. Earlier this year, the minister of education announced that School District #83 will be represented by a five member board: one trustee for the North Shuswap/Sorrento/Carlin area, one trustee for the Si- camous/Malakwa/Enderby/Grindrod area, one trustee for the Arm- strong/Spallumcheen/Falkland/Silver
