Selecting a commercial CTRM software solution can be fraught with potential pitfalls. Traditionally, CTRM solutions have been selected using an arduous mechanical process involving various steps from issuing a Request for Information (RFI), through Request for Proposal (RFP), demonstrations, reference checking and scoring. Recently, some have opted to follow a process that may also involve a Proof-of-Concept stage (POC) to gain hands on experience with usage of the solution - especially if it is delivered in the cloud as software as a service where it is easier to access. Despite everything, the selection process remains problematic and potentially open to bias, and this white paper will seek to provide some lessons learned and best-practice advice to would be selectors.
