• Willingness to travel is a must

• Staying in shape is a must as referees
move up and down the field for
hours
• While not required, prior history as a
coach or player is a plus
• Document every college/minor
league game you officiate as the
NFL will require you to provide this
information

• Proof of 10 year experience
(minimum of five collegiate/minor
league years
• Provide proof of belonging to
an accredited football officials
association or previous history as
football player or coach
• Provide a detailed copy of your
collegiate officiating schedule for
the past three seasons, listing dates,
schools, location of games, and
positions worked
