Desert Recreation District Administrative Manual SUBJECT: Park & Playground Inspection Maintenance Policy SECTION: Public Works and Planning POLICY NUMBER: AP302 DATE PREPARED: April 13, 2001 REVISION DATE: November 9, 2016 PURPOSE The Desert Recreation District (DRD) recognizes the importance of maintaining the condition, accessibility, and safety of its parks and playgrounds. The purpose of this policy is to outline the process by which DRD-operated parks and playgrounds are inspected and maintained. The focus of this policy is to protect life and property through regular inspection and timely maintenance. A comprehensive Inspection and Maintenance Program of parks and playgrounds is necessary to effectively manage risk and mitigate the potential for injury. SCOPE This policy applies to all parks and playgrounds owned and operated by the DRD.
