Bautista Dendrobium is one of the widely cultivated orchid in the Philippines, and is also one of the largest genus of tropical orchids, which is composed of about 1200 species. The plants also exhibit a variety of sizes and shapes, including flower color, scent and size. Dendrobiums are found in diverse habitats throughout much of south, east and southeast Asia, including the Borneo, Australia, New Guinea, New Zealand and Philippines. It is one of easiest to grow and affordable for orchid enthusiasts. The Philippines has a lot of Dendrobium species to offer, however, most of them are botanicals and has flowers that last only 1 day (one day orchid). The name Dendrobium came from the Greek 'dendron' (meaning tree) and bios (meaning life), as they are often found clinging in tree branches.
