This term, children explore the world that surrounds them. Firstly, on a macro level, children learn about the movements of the Earth, its place in the solar system, and the general characteristics of the different planets. Children also find out how the Earth’s movements affect our days, nights and seasons, and why the Moon All about appears to change shape in the sky. Secondly, children explore the world on a closer level, my world learning about our planet’s different types of weather, how weather is affected by changes in the Earth’s atmosphere, and how extreme weather causes problems in many parts of the world. Lastly, children learn about the three states of water and the water cycle, as well as the characteristics of different Pupils will be climates and the various ways we have of measuring the able to: weather.
