Just prior to this 11 Nippers senior lifesavers' championships. Rudi also the Lifesaving SA National Championships in U19 flags event. from the club took part in the Nippers' national took part in the finals of the senior sprint and Port Elizabeth on Saturday, 7 April. The club sent seven junior and senior championships for children aged 13 and under. U19 sprint. Altogether the MBSLC lifesavers Rudi, of the Mossel Bay Surf Lifesaving Club lifesavers to the national championships held Saturday was the last day of the junior and made it to six semi-finals and four finals. The MBSLC lifesavers who competed at the national championships in Port Elizabeth were: Bradley James, Richter Oosthuizen, Hansie Barnard, Janade Shaw, Jana Relihan, Gerdus Claassen and Rudi Boer.
