OCTOBER 14 - 27, 2024 Pickleball Madness in Aventura M onths after Aventura opened its first pickleball courts, the reviews are in – pickleball madness is taking over. Aventura’s five courts have been incredibly popular, with reservations for the most desirable times filling up within minutes of opening, according to Community Services Director Kimberly Merchant. Thanks to Mayor Howard Weinberg, Aventura’s courts have a unique feature that has made them a massive hit with residents – a shade canopy which reduces the temperature by twenty degrees. Mayor Weinberg, an avid pickleball enthusiast, told Aventura News that “The shade canopy makes a huge difference, especially during the summer months. I can’t keep track of how many people have commented about how much they love playing on our Aventura courts.
