Vol. 44, No. 75 September 17, 2026 Virginia Key: Miami has waited long enough BY GRANT MILLER, PUBLISHER City of Miami voters will be asked on Nov. 3 to decide the future of Virginia Key. Question No. 3 on the ballot asks voters to approve a development on public land next to Miami Marine Stadium. The plan calls for a public waterfront path, outdoor gathering areas, public parking, restaurants, retail, improved boat ramps and launches, wet slips, dry storage and upgraded marina facilities. Let me tell you where I stand. Miami Community Newspapers supports this proposal and recommends voting “yes” on Nov. 3. I don’t say that lightly.
