JUNE 12 - 25, 2023 Record-breaking accomplishments by Don Soffer Aventura High School’s first graduating class A “Excellence in education is when we do everything we can to make sure they become everything they can.” – Carol-Ann Thompson BY ELAINE ADLER t the recent Awards Assembly of Don Soffer Aventura High School, planned and hosted by Francie Weinberg, the school’s first graduating class won a record-breaking number of awards. And you know that this does not happen by accident. The consensus was unanimous… it was Principal Dr. Geoff McKee whose vision and hard work, carried out by the administrators, teachers and students that brought about the incredible results. In this first graduating class, there were 182 students. A look at the number of award recipients will put everything in perspective, and give all of us hope for the future of our country. Don Soffer attended the graduation and proudly watched the ceremonies of his namesake school, saying, “It was very rewarding to attend
