The successes of the project,
whereonlyonerhinowaslastinthe
HiP over the five month period, has
forced the poachers onto other
reserves, including the private reserves and this is a concern to the
authorities.
The project needs to be rolled out
quickly while the poachers are on
the run and have not time to regroup.
Christoforous has
appealed to other businesses to join his company in helping finance a broader use of
helicopters throughout KZN.
He says he learnt over the trial
period how sophisticated and professionally co-ordinated this attack
on our rhino is and that the crisis
needs to be met head-on.
