The other day, I was studying a map of South America. Did you know that the Panama Canal is located in an actual country that's called Panama? I didn't know that. I figured the canal was named after some famous guy named Panama, just like how the Hoover Dam is named after some famous guy named Herbert Hoover. I figured there was some South American guy with a name like Huckleberry Panama. But apparently, Panama is a country. What is it like to live in a country whose main feature is a fucking canal? Can you take pride in that? "We're a famous country--best known for being in the way of two oceans, and then getting out of the way of two oceans. Many people come to Panama every year, just so they can sail past Panama as quickly as possible. If it were up to the rest of the world, our entire country would be no land, and all canal.
