Fraternity and Sorority Life has been making
changes to reshape the perception and presence
of Greek life on campus.
Johnny Robinson, Fraternity and Sorority Life
assistant director, said they have implemented
new ideas after hearing from members that there
is difficulty in recruiting.
Fraternity and Sorority
Life recently held the first recruitment workshop.
The fraternities and sororities used the skills they
learned during the first Open House on Monday.
About 175 students attended the event, Robinson
said.
“I think no matter what campus you go to,
there’s certain things all Greek communities are
going to value,” Robinson said.
“They’re going to
value brotherhood and sisterhood, philanthropy,
community service, leadership and scholarship.
”
In fall 2008, 543 students were involved in
Fraternity and Sorority Life on campus.
In spring
2013, there were 929 students in fraternities and
sororities at UTA.
