Carman said that when she
voted for the first time Tuesday as an American citizen she
felt excitement and accomplishment because she had done
what so many choose not to do.
Carman, a native of Sao
Paulo, Brazil, said she wants
her students to know how each
of the presidential candidates’
education plans would affect
their future as part of her curriculum.
She accompanied several of those students to an early
polling site to cast their vote
