Dallas rock band The Last
of The Ashfords agreed Tuesday to fill in Space Cadet’s
time slot at Saturday’s Springfest 2009.
Space Cadet withdrew
from the event Monday because the band’s drummer’s
inability to play due to a head
injury.
After looking at local
bands, University Events
decided to contact The Last
of The Ashfords because of
the group’s record at previous university events, said
Michael Taddesse, Greek Life
and University Events assistant director.
“I thought they would
bring a good energy,” he said.
The band played two
showcases at Bowling and
Billiards, once at a MavsMeet
AfterParty and other campus
functions.
