Night Owls Score Tuition at Utah Jazz Game
Scholarship recipients part of halftime show at final home game
Despite a loss to the L.A. Lakers, the final home game for the Utah
Jazz was full of celebration for three of our Night Owls. With the help
of the team, WGU awarded scholarships for a full year of tuition to
three deserving students.
“The Jazz organization places great value on education, and we are
thrilled to help provide academic assistance to members of our
community,” said Randy Rigby, President of the Utah Jazz.
President Bob Mendenhall and our mascot, Sage, awarded the
scholarships to Kyle Deamer, Jasmin Williams, and Taylor Jones
during half time at the Jazz’s final home game. Each is working toward
a bachelor’s degree at WGU.
“This scholarship is really unique,” said Nick Rothacher, Scholarships
Program Manager. “Only students who are currently enrolled at
WGU are eligible. And this gave us the chance to celebrate the great
