INTOTHEFUTUREDRAFT PLANS REVEALED FOR NEW SUPERMARKET AND COLLEGE
People in Hemel Hempstead got a
glimpse into the future last month
when draft plans for a new Morrisons
foodstore and state-of-the-art college
were unveiled.
The plans will transform the area
currently occupied by West Herts
College’s Dacorum campus and the Civic
Centre on the Marlowes.
A partnership
between Dacorum Borough Council,
West Herts College and the supermarket
giant was approved last May.
As well as the foodstore, proposals
also include a petrol station and a car
park with around 500 spaces serving the
Morrisons, college and wider town centre.
The plans would also give the town an
employment boost with an estimated 350
jobs expected to be created.
