BLIND FURYPOCKLINGTON HOUSE CARE HOME FOR THE BLIND CLOSES
A charity for the blind has been
labelled a “disgrace” after plans were
pushed ahead to close a care home in
Northwood this month.
The Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT)
has been lambasted by relatives of
former residents in Pocklington House,
Eastbury Avenue, after it decided to close
the facility for blind and visually impaired
OAPs.
The situation left the 26 residents
of the home, with an average age of
more than 90, searching for a new place
to live.
TPT chiefs informed residents and
relatives on March 22 of their intention
to close the facility, giving tenants three
months to find new homes.
