The long running dispute over the
refurbishment of the William Penn
Leisure Centre in Rickmansworth
has been resolved.
After the project cost nearly double
its agreed price and took nearly three
and a half years instead of the one year
to complete, Three Rivers District
Council (TRDC) began legal action
against developers Atkins and Gee
Construction Limited.
Council chiefs say
the delay led to young people missing
eight terms of swimming and local
people missing out on thousands of visits.
After successful mediation, TRDC
chief executive Steven Halls said the
council had been vindicated in its claim
not to be at fault in any way for the
project overrun…
