Embedding Animations in PDF documents
Hand Tool Tool for Placing Buttons Tool for placing Movies
The second page in this document demonstrates the incorporation of animations in an Adobe Acrobat PDF document.
This is an easy
way to present animations to clients or the public in a very easy and reliable way.
To begin, create the document (with a blank spot for
the animation) in your favorite layout program.
I used Adobe InDesign for this one.
Then export it as a PDF and open it in Acrobat
Professional.
In Acrobat Pro, bring up the Advanced Editing Toolbar from the Tools menu.
Place your animation file (.
avi files
recommended.
).
Place your movie as an Acrobat 6 compatible file and leave the box checked to “Embed content in Document”.
And
drag a box to place your movie.
You can stop now if your text informs readers to click on the picture to start the animation.
Or if you
want, you can add a button, and set its Label, under ‘Options’ and for its ‘Action’ make it “Play Acrobat
