The Robotics Club is a direct response to the school’s current focus to develop its math, science, and engineering programs, said Nickels. The newly-adopted acronym “STEAM” translates as: science, technology, engineering, arts, math. Nickels said she is pleased with the numbers of students who have registered in these classes. The club offers the opportunity to translate what is learned into the classroom to the competitive environment. “Our young women are challenged to compete with and against other robotics teams,” she said.
