Covering up a bad ceiling with artex.
If you have a very uneven surface on your ceiling then using artex to cover it up is a great idea.
For
walls you can choose to paper over it if the problem isn t too severe, or cover the area with cheap wall
tiles, but for a ceiling, artex could be your best solution.
Artex goes on to your surface like a thick paint.
You can then create an effect in it to give an even
covering across your ceiling.
Some effects are harder to create than others, so practice on a piece of
scrap wood before you artex your ceiling.
If you want a particular design you may want to get a
professional in to help as some effects are very hard to achieve and can take quite some skill.
However if you simply want a neat and tidy finish, stippling is very easy and should be easy for
anyone to manage.
Get your overalls on and your safety glasses, as artex can be messy.
Artex can also
dry quickly so keep the room as cool as possible to delay the drying process for as long
