The way you made women in your stories relates to women pretty well back
then, now do you think that relate to woman in modern time?
Kate Chopin:
Obviously women for my time and women modern days have changed in
many ways.
Women in modern days are allowed in to be more independent
and during my time we didn’t have much of that.
Women in my time were
almost completely controlled by men.
Their sole purpose in life is to find a
husband, reproduce and then spend the rest of their lives serving him.
If a
woman were to decide to remain single, she would be ridiculed and pitied by
the community.
In this time period women are not controlled by men, and
have the freedom to almost anything they want, which is why I like this time
period very much.
