March 7, 2012 - On March 7, 2012, the Georgia
House of Representatives unanimously passed a bill that GREATLY increases
the visitation rights of grandparents whose grandchildren are entangled in
cases involving child custody, divorce or the termination of parental rights.
The day was called Crossover Day in the State Capitol, the final day of
reckoning for most bills seeking to become law this year.
Any bill that didn t
pass out of at least one chamber by the end of the day, with a few
exceptions, was essentially dead.
