Given the amazing
technology that the average person has at her disposal this is not difficult
but it does require discipline and the development of some new habits.
When it comes to independent language learning we have both a
problem and a number of practical solutions.
The problem is corporate
media, media for profit.
Once a news channel, a radio station or a newspaper
exists mainly for making money for its shareholders it often compromises its
integrity.
You cannot trust CNN to give you impartial, comprehensive
information on the coal and oil industries when it receives hundreds of
millions of dollars in commercial sponsorship from them every year.
