We use the Gerund or the Infinitive after the following verbs with little differences
in meaning:

* She loves painting.

They start singing.
They start to sing.
Use those marked with * are when expressing your likes / dislikes.

possible structures after these verbs.
Gerund: verb + -ing
Infinitive: verb + person + to-infinitive
advise
They advise walking to town.

allow
