SRI LANKA, PRINCIPLES OF DEMOCRACY, AND ITS CONFUSED STATE By Kanthar P Balanathan writing in the name of “Sandilyan” 1.0 General There have been so many atrocities committed by the state machinery over the past several decades, which are unaccounted by the Sri Lankan government. Even at this present day, the SriLankan government propagates to the world that they are committed to peace talk to arrive at a political solution, while executing their ultra racial Buddhist policies of ethnic cleansing, colonizing Tamil areas with criminals and thugs, and planned program of assimilation through the back door. Batticaloa and Trincomalea are typical examples of these actions. Sri Lanka talks of terrorism. Let us define terrorism? “Practice of using violent and intimidating methods, esp. to achieve political ends.” (Ref: NZ Pocket Oxford Dictionary).
