Overview
The FSA register extract provides the definitive source of information for all compliance and
marketing data for firms and individuals authorised under the Financial Services Act.
SDM supply
the register via electronic media, in particular via the web and FTP.
SDM also maintain a history of
week-by-week changes to every data item on the register; this is known as the change history table.
The change history table is a thorough audit trail of every data item relating to each firm and each
individual who has ever been authorised by the FSA.
This audit trail has been used by SDM clients to
track back compliance history of firms and individuals that clients write business with.
The change
history table is also used to track all updates to intermediaries that clients are interested in; it is a very
efficient way of policing such changes.
